The Remaining Sessions to Benefit CF

Last week, I met with 3 more families who couldn't make it to our Photo Event to Benefit CF. Since this cause is near and dear to me, I wanted to get in as many sessions as I could. And not to toot my own horn, the photos were gorgeous.

One of the families (photos immediately following) we have known since my oldest daughter was in Pre-school. I actually photographed them for the first time about 5 years ago. It feels like it was just yesterday. I know I say it all the time, but I truly don't know where time goes!

Look at this photo....she is such a beautiful girl, inside and out! She actually just cut 11 inches off her hair and donated it to 'locks of love'!

and here is the handsome boy that, for years, my daughter claimed she would marry someday! Too funny!

there were so many good photos, but i think this one may be my fave.

no wait, this one is.....

okay, really it's this one. I can't decide!!!

so as we were walking around, Colby spots this tree that juts out slightly over the water. Of course, he wants to climb in it. What is it with boys and trees????

We couldn't wrap without getting some pics with mom. Jen, by the way, is pretty amazing. She is currently training to run a half marathon (which is a little over 13 miles!!) to benefit a cause that is dear to her, Chrone's Disease. She told me that she raised $3400! That is awesome! Lots of luck to you Jen! And thanks for showing your support to my cause!

Now, onto my next session.....(yes, I have been a very busy girl!)

when I scheduled this session, this little darling's mom, Mary, told me that she has never had much luck with getting photos of her daughter. I really don't know why, she is such a cutie, and was hamming it up for me right away!

this black and white photo below, one of our favorites!

When I sent the pictures to Mary, I received an email from her that was very touching. I have to share:

"Kelly, I was just looking at the pics and I am crying they are so beautiful!!!! Thank you so much!!!!! :)"

No one has ever told me that my photos made them cry! Mary, I am so happy you loved them!

And lastly, one more session. Kim brought her son, whom I have been photographing since he was a newborn. Cam is so much fun...he is a ball of energy! I had to run around after him to get my shots!

Kim would try to help me my picking him up, but the moment his feet touched the ground, he was off! Take a look!

and off he goes!

I was able to still get some great shots, when I could catch up to him!

So there we have it. I may have said this before, but I am so proud I will say it again. We raised $860 for Cystic Fibrosis. What started out as a whim of an idea turned into something wonderful! The Great Strides walk is just 10 days away (May 8th). Miss Maddie's Mission for a Cure has a goal of $5000, and they are nearly reaching it. Great job to all!!! xoxoxo

The Letourneau Family Session

My good friend Sandy, who was at the center of our Photo Event last weekend, donated her $40 this week for her 'Session to benefit CF'. We knew that it was just too much to have her session Sunday, so we scheduled her a private session. (The perks of having a fabulous photographer friend, lol!) However, about an hour before we were to meet, I get a phone call from a frantic Sandy telling me the electricity was out in her whole neighborhood, and she and her two adorable girls all had wet hair. But the electricity came on in the nick of time, and all the girls looked beautiful as always!

There are so many great photos from this session it was so hard to choose for the blog...these girls are just so darn cute!

Can't even begin to say how much I love the photo of dad and daughter holding hands. Some of you may or may not know this, but Jay used to assist for me at weddings when I was starting out. He also has a great eye for photos!

truly a beautiful family.....

i wanted to see the girls being silly, so they were instructed to jump around....these photos just make me smile!

one of my faves of the girls.....

too cute for words here.....

Last but not least, a photo of all our kids when we wrapped up. I love that the girls have a blast with each other!

Thanks Letourneau family for getting all dressed up and for sitting in the grass for me. You guys were great! Here's looking forward to next year and doing it all over again and raising even more for Cystic Fibrosis!

Photo Event for Cystic Fibrosis a Success!!!!

Some of you already know this, but for those of you who don't.... I am not the most organized person. So for me to coordinate something like this was a little daunting. But with the help of two fantastic photographers, Lisa Frechette and Seth Jacobson, and also Sandy Letourneau, whose daughter has CF, we really pulled it all together to make this a great event!

I should have known that the day we picked was going to rain, especially after the soaking we all got last year at the CF Great Strides Walk, but really, the rain date too? We were all watching the weather early in the week, and when Saturday looked like a wash out, the executive decision was made to take advantage of the scheduled raindate, Sunday. But when Sunday morning rolled around and it was still raining.....I admit, there was a little knot in my stomach. Even as I drove to Roger Williams Park, using my windshield wipers, I was cursing those weathermen. Pffft. 10% chance of precipitation. But as the photographing began, the rain faded......guess those weathermen are back in my good graces.

Lisa and I got there early, and we took a little time to take each others family photos. It's not always easy to get family portraits on a self timer, so we were eager to take advantage this deal as well! Here's a little peak at our photos from the day....

Let me just say a big thank you now to Lisa, because although great behind the lens, I am terrible in FRONT of it. She did great work! I Love them! So Lisa, thank you thank you!!!!!

And now a sneak peek at hers (as of now, she has not seen them, so I hope she likes them!)

And when we were finished up with our little sessions, the guest of honor arrived. With her, she had a money box that I am told she decorated herself, (with some help from her dad: Go Dad! You guys did great!)

It was a chilly day, but all who showed up were such troopers. I was worried that because of the weather some would change their minds, but the turnout was fantastic! A great big Thank you to all of you. We know it wasn't easy, but you all really came through! You guys made this such a wonderful day! Here is a sneak peek at some of the photos taken Sunday. Each strip of photos is labeled with the photographer who took them.

This is really just a sampling. There are soooo many photos! I know there are going to be lots of happy families once you see all the photos! And lastly, we weren't "all work, no play". We had some time to get a few snaps of each other, and, Who couldn't resist getting some more of our little guest of honor?!!!!

the above photos were taken by Lisa. She caught Seth monkey-ing around in the tree, and then caught us laughing. Can't quite remember what inspired that belly laugh, but it makes me wonder why I sometimes look a little bit asian when I laugh.....love them though!

these photos (above) were shot by Seth...poor guy had to work with such picky girls, trying to figure out which were our "best sides" (not the lil' one in pink, she's adorable no matter what side!).....great shots, as always!

and last but not least, Lisa, Me and Seth, with the lady of the day, taken by my friend, (& the lil' ladies mom!) Sandy. Sandy, by the way, also had quite the task keeping the day flowing. She was manning the phone, (I know, I know....apparently my directions weren't the most clear, very sorry!) and greeting everyone and hooking them up with their photographer. We wouldn't have had such a smooth day without you Sandy!

Because of everyones support, from Seth and Lisa who donated their valuable time and gifted talent, and Jenn who was on hand to wrangle all of our kids who were on location, to all the wonderful families who showed up, we raised lots of money! A big, big Thank You to all of you. And Lots of Luck to the walkers this year at the Great Strides Walk on May 8th, I wish you a successful (and dry) day!

Capron Park Photo Session

A few weekends ago, I met up with Kim at Capron Park in Attleboro. She wanted some Easter photos of her two kids who are just adorable! I think I was so distracted by the charm of these blonde little beauties, that I left my car door wide open with my Coach purse just sitting right there on the seat the whole time we were off shooting. Oops! Luckily, not only did the photo session go great, but my purse was left intact right there on the seat! Check these out!

I just love the look on his face in this one.....

The kids really loved this little red ducky they brought with them!

So, the photoshoot was a success. The kids were so great, hope the Easter Bunny left them some good stuff!!!

Photos with Chiarra!

If you know me at all, you already know that I love doing photo sessions with children! That being said, with kids, you never know how the session will go. Well, with Chiarra, she couldn't have made my job any easier. It was fun to watch her investigate and examine the flowers, the sticks, the puppies walking by. Even though we interrupted her naptime, she was such a pleasure! Wait till you see some of these photos...

She was such a trooper, she even let mom do an outfit change!

It was a fun morning! I think we captured lots of great shots! Good job Chiarra!

Our Photo Extravaganza is a Hit So Far!

I'm so pleased to tell you all that I have gotten such great feedback in response to our Photo Extravaganza on April 17th benefitting Cystic Fibrosis. (To the left is a photo of Maddie, 4 years old, a dear family friend who was diagnosed two years ago, and was my inspiration in coming up with this idea!)

For those of you who haven't heard of this event, I have been fortunate enough to include two other wonderful photographers, Lisa Frechette & Seth Jacobson. (click on their names to check out their websites!) They are such talented artists and truly remarkable people! We are making ourselves available that day to offer a portrait session in return for your $40 donation to Cystic Fibrosis. We are even throwing in two 5x7's. There's no better time to join us for a portrait session, & give back to a great cause.

Last year at this time, my family and I were were gearing up for the Great Strides Walk which benefitted this same cause. The kids were super excited to take part, and I was glad to be involved. The day came, and of course, it rained. And rained. And rained. But we all were there anyway, raincoats and umbrellas in hand. That's me in the photo below at the Great Strides Walk, all smiles, but drenched! It was a successful day regardless.

We can't take part in the Walk this year, which is why I thought up this fundraiser. I was determined to find a way to raise some money anyway, and again, was ecstatic when both Seth and Lisa didn't hesitate when asked if they would donate their time and talent.

For the sake of the walkers this year at the Great Strides Walk, I hope the sun shines for you. I also hope the rain stays away on April 17th, so we have a successful day as well! (Just in case, we do have a rain date of April 18th.)

And call or email me today to book your appointment for your photo session! There are still plenty of time slots open! See photo below for all details and contact info!
