i'm back!

so it has been forever since i have blogged, and really i wish i had a good excuse. but i got nothing. i just fell off the blogger map. and honestly, now that i am sitting here actually typing one, i realize i have missed it. so here i am, baby! i'm back! and i am bringing to you something great in this blog, since you have been long-awaiting it. i can think of nothing better to show you than some truly adorable children!

i am pretty sure i have said before that i sometimes favor the out-takes, because well, it shows true personality.....and this would be one of those times. the reaction this little guy has to his sister's kiss? LOVE it.

a little bit of silliness never hurt anyone.

same goes for a little bit of tickling.

and my fave of the day:

these two were so much fun. how could i not love this job?
so like i promised, a couple of cute kids. and one last promise....more blogs to come!

holiday out-takes

i took some time the other day to take my own kids holiday portraits. my girls are so used to being in front of the lens that usually, it goes pretty smoothly. but not this time my friend. i will admit that there may have been a bit of um..... talking loudly (some people would call it yelling) and maybe even a few stray tears. but once we got the wardrobe issues resolved, we got on a roll. or so i thought. apparently, the kids were unaware that i may ask them to touch. or hug. or smile. so, because i am a genius behind the lens, i was still able to capture some fantastic shots. to see those, you will have to wait for the holiday card. but the out-takes.....well those are so classic i just have to share.

now, don't let this first one trick you. yes, they are smiling. yes, they look pretty cute. but lets ask the important question. "why are their hands up?" well, there is a simple answer. they were actually hitting each other. yup. so cute. (eye-roll)

and this next series, shows how madison is not too fond of the hugging.

and whats a portrait session without sticking your tongue out at your mother?

it was one very trying experience. and i didn't think this would be the case at the beginning of this whole day, but through the sweat and tears i think i got myself some shots of the girls that i will forever treasure. even the out-takes.

miss alanna!

i don't really ever miss our first house, but i do miss our neighbors. shortly after we moved into the first house, (many years ago) we watched as our then- teenaged neighbor, alanna, was picked up in a limo and was whisked off to her prom. she would poke her head in our windows in the morning to say hello (and scare the be-jeezus out of us) as she headed out to college class. She babysat our daughters, and talked us into letting Madison partake in an acting class that she was teaching. we don't miss our house, but we sure do miss alanna and her family.

when i decided to do a special photo session, i knew this would be right up alanna's alley. and boy did she come thru for me. alanna is beautiful and funny and she's certainly up for anything. tresspassing on private property?....oh yeah, she's in. climbing up on a tractor? sure, no sweat. thanks to my willing model, these photos are all levels of great.....

she'll tell you she does "goofy" so well, but she also does beautiful exceptionally.
see?

i really, really love this one.

madison came along with us for this shoot, and I don't remember what she said, but it definitely cracked miss alanna up with great results. kudos madison!

how cute is this next one?

ok, so the next one i also love....there is such a beauty about this one....

and this series is so fun. the whole time we were doing this, madison was in the background impatiently waiting to find out what this magnificent puffy thing was that we had come across. and of course, waiting impatiently to get her hands on some.

you know we had to give her a handful.

there just are not words to describe how much i love this one. alanna is gorgeous!

and boy we had some fun!

these boots were alanna's idea, and it was fantastic.

lastly, another favorite.
so i am calling this photo session a success. we definitely had fun, we broke some rules, we may have even fed some goats a potato....(did I forget to mention that?)

alanna, what can i say....you did amazing! thank you!!!!

Kids Kids Kids!

A very good friend of mine asked me to photograph her kids and nieces as a birthday gift for her mom. I personally think that photographs make one of the best gifts. Many of occasions have i given the gift of a photo. And I am always so excited to receive them as well. I think once Grammy (thats what these cuties call their grandmother whose birthday is this week) gets a glimpse of these photos, she will fall in love with them!

So, we photographed 5 children, ranging in age from 9 months, to 8 years old. Here we start with my friends kiddies....

and this group photo below makes me smile! Check out little Abby in the middle sticking her tongue out! She is too much!

and the next one just cracks me up. There were 3 adults (myself included) doing everything we could to get the kids attention. See how successful we were????

these next few photos are just sooooo sweet...

I hope these photos make their Grammy smile.....& I hope she has a great Birthday!

Welcome to My Blog!

So, when I finally decided I was going to create a blog, my next thought was "What will I put in my very first blog post?". Well, surprise surprise....it took me all of about 5 seconds to decide that the very first images I would upload would be of my girls.

Even though it was a bit chilly this weekend, they wanted to go outside and do the things they love to do: Climb trees and ride their bikes. So, outside we went, camera in hand. I took out the bikes & helmets, checked them meticulously for spiders, and off they went to do their thing, and I, mine.

Well, I have plenty in store for this blog, and I can't wait to get started. Remember to check back soon, as I've got some pretty exciting stuff in the works, and will be discussing it on here really soon!!! Thanks for stopping by!!
